Oval Face Shape
Oval shape of face is considered as the most ideal shape. No special hair style or corrective makeup is required with an oval face shape as it is a very balanced face type. The eyebrows should be cleanly shaped. While you are applying the lipstick, make sure that you outline the lower lip for creating a fuller look whereas natural look of your upper lip is simply followed. Apply the blush on your cheeks in the shape of a ‘C’ and it should be blended up well to outer corner of your eyes.
Diamond Face Shape
Diamond shape face has a narrow chin and forehead with little wide cheek bones. You need to reduce the width of cheeks for achieving an oval shape face by applying a little dark shade of your foundation to outside of your cheekbones which extends towards outer corner of your eyes. Lighter shade of the foundation should be evenly applied on forehead and the chin for creating an illusion of width to your face. Your eyebrows should be apart from centre following the natural arch. The lip color is applied on your natural lip line.
Heart Face Shape
This type of face has a narrow chin with wide forehead. You can increase the width of your jaw line and chin with light shade of the foundation and minimize width of your forehead by applying darker shade of the foundation. Your eyebrows should be straight and thick following your natural arch with the distance of an eye between the brows. The lip color should be applied on natural line of your lips. White eye shadow or a high lighter should be applied on sides of your cheeks and on your forehead centre for creating the illusion of width. The blush should be applied on your upper cheek bone.
Round Face Shape
This type of face shape has an equal length and width proportion. You can add some length to your round shaped face for making it an oval shape. A narrow forehead looks good on such face types which can be easily formed by using deeper shade of your foundation on sides. Dark color of the foundation should be applied under the cheeks and on your jaw line for giving a slender look. Your cheeks would look narrow if blush is applied and blended well on cheekbones. The lip color needs to be applied on inside of your lip line. The eyebrows should be in sweeping manner. Brow pencils should be used for giving a longer appearance to your eyes and eyebrows.
Square Face Shape
A square jaw and straight forehead makes a strong face shape. Dark shade of the foundation used on the sides of your face and jaw line would tone down wide corners of your face. A small amount of blush on your cheeks should be blended towards your jaw line for accentuating the length of your face. A square face shape gives a soft touch with round shape eyebrows. The lip color should be applied for creating fullness on your lips so that the attention from your square jaw line can be diverted.
Long Face Shape
For reducing the length of a long face, you need to create an obvious illusion of width. Slightly thick eyebrows are needed with their natural arch for reducing the face length. The eye makeup needs to be aimed for achieving the wide-eyed look. Apply the eyeliner from centre of your eye lid and tilt it up to outer corner of your eye. The lip line should look full in appearance. The blush should be applied on cheeks but not higher than the outer corner of your eyes and not even below your nose tip. Deep shade of the foundation is applied on top of your forehead and across your chin and jaw for reducing the length of your face.
Pear Face Shape
Wide chin, wide jaw line and narrow forehead are the characteristics of such a face type. Additional width to the forehead with an illusion of the length of your face looks better on these faces. Your eyebrows need to have a high arch on outer ends. The application of blush on your cheekbones needs to be blended well towards your jaw line. Deep color of the foundation needs to be applied on your face sides for minimizing the jaw width and for having a slender face look.
