Evening Primrose Oil

For some choosing to put manmade chemicals in their bodies is not an option. What is complimentary medicine? It is a range of medical therapies that are not regarded as orthodox by the medical profession, such as homeopathy and acupuncture.

In some cases traditional medicines and alternative therapies are used in conjunction with each other. For example a cancer sufferer maybe treated with chemotherapy but receive acupuncture or take essential oils to help ease the pain associated with their treatment.

Natural medicines can have many benefits and treatments such as herbalism dates back thousands of years and in certain parts of the world they are still used as everyday medicines.

The most common alternative medicines are essential oils. They can be found in many forms and if you walk into any health food shop you will see the shelves stacked with all the different types of natural medicines you can buy.

For example; Evening primrose oil is a new essential medicine to grace the shelves of our medicine cabinets. It’s a wonder natural medicine that is now widely used to treat a range of different ailments in men, women and children. It has been used in chinese medicine for thousands of years.

Evening primrose is a beautiful vibrant yellow wildflower that grows throughout the United States. It is extracted through cold pressing the seeds harvested from the flowers and drawing out the raw oil.

Evening primrose oil is packed full of amazing health benefits. It has been proven to have an impact on hormone health, skin, hair and bone health. It’s full of essential fatty acids, which are necessary for overall general health, but as the body cannot make them you usually absorb through food. It’s particularly high in omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids, both of which play a role in brain health as well as growth and development.

Fish oil is usually the ‘go to’ for the omega fatty acids, but if you do not eat fish or like the taste of the tablets, evening primrose oil is a good alternative.

Evening primrose has been widely recognised in treating hormone health and many women now take it to treat PMS symptoms and for encouraging good hormone health, especially important if you are trying to conceive. Due to its benefits on hormones, it can also help with acne. As it helps balance the hormones it can be really helpful in treating acne associated with hormonal imbalance.

The university of Maryland carried out research that proved it can also be beneficial for hair loss, when people massaged the oil into their hair, over time they noticed a significant rate of hair regrowth. If you suffer from alopecia this could be a very exciting find for you.

Due to the fact evening primrose is packed full of omega fatty acids, the benefit it can have on overall skin health is impressive. It is often used to treat serious cases of eczema.

Benefits of Eyebrow Threading

Some of the main benefits are

  • Unlike plucking, in this process, the hair takes much longer to grow back. The hair is uprooted from root to tips which ensure that the hair doesn’t grow back again for at least a couple of weeks.
  • This process does not leave any spot marks. Due the fact that the hair is uprooted completely the areas remain clean and neat. All you can see is the skin
  • In the case of plucking or waxing, hair re-growth is often uneven. Some people complain that their eyebrows have come out thicker and fuller which can really deteriorate one’s look. But in threading, hair grows evenly and gradually.
  • It’s convenient to do. Unlike waxing, you don’t need to do much preparation in this process. All you need is a thread and an expert professional.

Trying it for the first time

Yes, it’s true that trying this process for the first time can be a little painful, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it. Before and after the process, just put a layer of lotion or cream over the area. As the pores remain wide open for quite some time, it is not advised to wash the area immediately.

Considering the fact that most women are conscious about how they look, it’s normal for them to splurge high on their makeup. Any kind of cosmetology therapy is available at most salons and parlours. All you need to do is find a salon which you find suitable. Be careful here as doing any kind of beauty therapy in an unknown salon can be a risk; you don’t want that for your face.

Fairness Creams

Whenever I go to market, a moisturizer and a sunscreen lotion is a must pick for me. I don’t use fairness lotions, but a lot of people have a perception that fairness creams help them to enhance their complexion and offer them radiant and trouble-free skin.

Though, I do not hesitate to do research on my behalf and have explored a few facts about the fairness creams available on the market.

  • If you are not aware, let me tell you that most of the fairness creams contain bleaching agents. If the content of the bleaching agents present in these creams exceeds the level considered as safe, it may leave a harmful effect on the skin over time. Also, the long-term usage of these creams may pose serious health issues. In rare cases, it may cause skin cancer too.
  • None of the fairness creams can change the actual complexion of a person. All of these creams provides temporary results so that the user gets addicted to the product.
  • Many creams contain harmful ingredients like mercury that may cause abdominal pain, increased thirst, constipation and other skin problems. In many instances, it may result in severe allergies.

The manufacturers of these beauty products claim that they use anti-aging ingredients and sun protection formula in the manufacturing process of these products that is quite safe on the epidermis.

I feel that there is no harm in using any of the fairness cream if it contains ingredients that are safe on skin. The best alternative would be to opt for some natural formula that ensures fair, radiant, and youthful skin. It’s better to consider using an Ayurvedic cream or a lotion known for providing clean and clear skin.

We can always think of giving a try to home-made beauty recipes. Ingredients like turmeric, sandalwood, coconut water, saffron, gram flour and honey are known as the natural skin cleansers and moisturizers. These elements can also enhance the complexion of a person if applied on the skin regularly.

About Homemade Face Wash

Some things I have learned to create instead of buying is my Laundry soap, cleaner, and much more. Today I thought I would give a run down on a new face wash I have been trying.

After a lot of research and constant repining on Pinterest, I think I have come up with a pretty simple technique, I have gotten it down to between two to four products! One of the main ingredients I use is Coconut Oil, I do have oily skin so I was pretty hesitant on using it. You would think that when you have oily skin, you NEVER want to use oil on your skin. But, it actually has helped counter act the oil my body makes, so that my skin is really soft and not oily throughout the day.

Second ingredient is Honey! Honey has many anti-bacterial traits and is good for treating acne. If you’re like me, you have tons of break outs and scars, and just when you think you finally have clear skin again, you have a totally new break out ALL OVER your face. My skin is really sensitive and if I even touch my face once, I have a break out.

A third ingredient you can use is pretty much any type of Essential Oil. Tea Tree is really good for spot treatments, as well as Rosemary. The oil I like to use is Lavender, not only because Lavender also is great for treating new or old break outs, but because when I use it at night it puts me in a great relaxed state after using it.

The last ingredient that I use is great for exfoliating your skin, nut. I don’t recommend putting it in your cleanser every day because exfoliating your skin is taking layers of skin off your face and isn’t always good to do every night. The last ingredient is Oatmeal! Most people take the oatmeal and ground it so its finer, but I just use it how it is because I feel like I get the best clean that way.

Using your wash. Most days throughout the week I will use my wash with just Coconut Oil and Honey, I’ll put the Lavender in after a long day. I massage it onto my face for a few minutes, then I will take a washcloth under the hottest water I can handle, ring it out, and hold it on my face to open and warm everything up. I massage my face with the washcloth as well to get the oil off and then that’s it! The process is the same with the Oatmeal, I just use that about three times a week to help get rid of dead skin.

Stop Having Oily Skin

In these cases, the intervention of a psychologist is necessary to deal comprehensively with the problem, since it is not only a physical issue that a dermatologist should be responsible for, but also an emotional one. Having acne involves many conflicts with self-esteem, safety, self-acceptance, bullying and other situations whose consequences are serious and, in some cases, extreme, such as suicide.

But not all is lost; Fortunately, there are some beauty tricks to avoid acne and its consequences. These are simple to follow and besides making you look better, they will give health and cleanliness to your skin, which translates into a person who looks good and, therefore, feels good.

  • Hydrate your skin
We might think that having a greasy complexion is not convenient for a moisturizer, but that is a serious mistake. We must keep the pores hydrated with a special cream for your skin type and without artificial or extra fat. The free oil creams are the ideal ones, since in addition to hydrating, they refresh.
  • Use sunscreen
This product will not only prevent grease from becoming present, but it will also avoid stains and delay the aging of the skin. The sun tends to “take advantage” of oily skin to leave its mark when burned too much.
  • Exfoliate your skin
There are natural products that do not irritate the dermis; In the same way, there are chemical products that help to keep the pores closed and with the proper humidification. Exfoliate the face helps to remove impurities and dirt residues that accumulate; It is advisable to do it at least once and maximum three a week.
  • Use makeup oil free
In fact, if you can go through life without a foundation, much better, but if you choose to use it, it is best that you look for a specific oil-free product for oily skin. These visibly controls the production of facial fat and maintains a matte effect much of the day. If during the day you notice that the grease appears, do not retouch with more makeup; With a handkerchief, gently remove the shine or use translucent powders to tint and seal the makeup.
  • Drink water
Try to keep your body hydrated. Do not stop drinking water throughout the day, because when the body has enough fluid, the fat that the skin produces secretes a natural glow, not an excess of it.
  • Wash your face with neutral soap
Do not use the same soap with which you wash your body. Buy a special one for acne and shine or choose any neutral bar; These are free of oil, perfumes and dyes, which irritate and cause grease and shine to appear. Dry with a special towel.
  • Change the pillowcases
Do it at least every week and try to make them cotton. You will prevent the bacteria from staying in one place for a long time and reproducing. You will give a break to the face and you will avoid acne.
  • Do not touch your face all day
Avoid, as far as possible, touching your face. If you are going to do it, try to wash your hands before. Sometimes it is very easy to remove the excess fat with your palms or fingers, but doing it that way will only cause the bacteria to spread on your face.

Handmade Soap

Handmade soap is great to me and seems to be better for my skin overall. I have heard from many others that purchase soap from me and they love it as well. The benefits of using handmade soap is better than store bought soaps for many reasons. The main reason being all of the chemicals and additives used in store bought soaps. Handmade soaps do not contain all of the harsh chemicals in them that other soaps do. My base recipe includes olive oil, but you can incorporate many different types of oils including coconut oil, or grapeseed oil, and more – just to name a few. I usually use a mix of oils to make my complete mixture for the soaps I make. Using a mixture of different oils along with some other items can give the best results.

People often ask me if you can make soap without lye. The short answer to this is yes, you can. You can make lye-free soap from a pre-mixture you can buy at your local hobby store or arts and crafts store that is called melt and pour. This simple method of soap making is easy for anyone to get into at home and can be fun for the whole family. This is the easiest way to get started making soap. If you want to make real homemade soaps then you will need to get the proper materials and equipment for doing so, and find good recipes from respectful resources online to get started.

Using Melt and Pour: Purchase melt and pour at your local hobby store. Using molds of almost any kind you can heat the melt and pour soap in the microwave and pour into the molds. Allow the soap to harden – using the freezer can speed this process up. Remove your soap from the molds and enjoy your soap!

There are many variations you can do with melt and pour soap including scents and colors and shapes and sizes. Your imagination is the limit.

Making Handmade Soap From Lye: Make sure you have all the proper equipment to make this type of soap. Find some reputable places online with good recipes. Pick a recipe you want to use and make sure you have all the ingredients available. Measure out all of your ingredients and follow the proper procedure making sure you wear protective gear since you are working with lye.

There are many resources online for making handmade soap, the equipment needed and so on. I started for about $150.00 with everything to make my first few batches of soap, and I grew from there. I know have hundreds of essential oils for scents, and many different types and sizes of soap molds that I can work with to make a lot of different types of soap.

Homemade soap can be a really good hobby – as I found out starting that all of my friends and family were interested and now purchase soap from me on a regular basis.

Maintain Virgin Hair

Virgin hair is donated by a living individual person that is not chemically processed, styled or coloured so that they possess the natural qualities and feel 100% natural with your own hair. They are often straight as they are not permed before use. In simple words, they are exactly the same which was on the donor’s head.

These are often harvested from young women with long, full healthy hair, which will be clear of greys, split ends and other damages. They are usually collected in ponytails so that their cuticle remain healthy and already show shiny, soft texture. Virgin hair is the highest quality hair extension option available in the market.

When saying chemically untouched or not at all permed, it is meant the same before collecting the hair from the donor as well. Even prior to donation, the hair should be not styled, relaxed or not exposed to any type of hair treatments. These types often show an undamaged cuticle, which in turn results in the softer and natural texture of the hair extension or replacement.

Cuticles are the vital part in your hair. Once they are damaged, it may cause serious problems like tangling, dryness, frizziness, to the hair, whether your own or the extension you use. So it is important to maintain them or to choose the best quality product. Cuticles may be replaced by silicone, but they fade away quickly.

Once used by the accepter, these extensions can be an easy styling component as they are too soft and easily manageable when used with appropriate products. If you want to maintain your hair’s natural quality as such, just follow some basic habits while styling occasionally.

Instead of using chemical permanent dyes or colours, you can use temporary and conditioning dyes. These temporary ones can affect your hair less harshly than those permanent dyes and help to retain the natural quality. However, to get lighter shades of hair temporary hair dyes are not advisable as they need to be bleached.

Also, to get curly and permed hair, adopt natural or less wary methods that don’t affect the hair very much. For example, to get curls, instead of permanent methods or harsh heating equipment, use temporary methods. Just braid or twirl your damp hair and pin it for a night to get temporary curls without damaging the natural beauty.

The Tummy Tuck

The complexity of the surgery depends on the case being worked on. Surgery on a person with a lot of excess fat in the abdomen is more complicated. After the administration of anaesthesia, two incisions are made by the surgeon on the abdomen. One incision loosens the navel area while the other incision raises the navel from the tissues. The skin is then lifted to expose the muscles in the abdomen.

The surgeon then stitches the muscles into a new position thus giving the patient a new and defined waistline. The skin is stretched back to its original position. Any excess skin is trimmed down and the tummy is stitched to close up the incisions. Lastly, the surgeon creates a new naval since the old one would be stretched far down the tummy.

You will remain with a scar on the tummy but most surgeons try their best to conceal it. The scar takes about six to nine months to disappear completely.

For the first couple of weeks, your tummy will be swollen and quite painful. The surgeon will prescribe some pain relieving drugs for you. It may take you two to four weeks to fully recover and get back to your normal routine. You may need to stay in hospital for a day or two so that the surgeon can see how you are fairing on.

Those intending to go through the surgery should be in good health condition. For example, obese people are advised to try and lose weight first before the surgery can be performed on them. This is to reduce the occurrence of complications like respiratory problems, infections, development of a blood clot and slowing down of the healing process. A woman who is planning to become pregnant is advised to have the baby first before undergoing the surgery.

The abdominoplasty type of surgery includes different types of operations. The price ranges from one type of surgery to another. A low costing procedure is also ideal but the higher priced procedures are higher in quality. Talking to a surgeon before the procedure is recommended because you will get to know of the risks involved, the price and the recovery process. It is also advisable to go through some before and after pictures of tummy tucks to get an idea of what to expect after the surgery.

Gorgeous Hair With Gooseberries

Everyone has their own hair complaints. Even men are suffering from severe hair damage and are opting for hair treatments now. The market is abuzz with products meant for curing almost every one of your hair issues and parlours are listed with an array of treatments to repair the harm that has been done.

Our nature is abound with herbs, fruits etc that can heal and treat many of your beauty problems. A little bit of patience is required to regain what you have damaged but it will be worth the wait and the effort. Any chemical treatment is bound to harm you in the long run but treating yourself with herbal and natural cures will bless you with beauty that is real and long-lasting.

This is a simple recipe of amla (Indian gooseberries) and coconut oil. Prepare this hair oil at home. It’s easy to make, doesn’t take much time and needs only two ingredients; coconut oil and dry gooseberries. Regular usage of this oil stops hair fall and gives you thicker and fuller hair. It cures premature greying and makes your hair darker. It even changes the texture of your hair giving you lovely, soft and smooth locks.

This recipe needs (mainly) only two ingredients; coconut oil and dry gooseberries. Coconut oil nourishes you hair and scalp and promotes hair growth. Gooseberries can cure dandruff and make your hair strong, thick and glossy.

Use plain, pure coconut oil for this recipe. If you are doubtful of the quality of your oil then make the oil at home or derive it by the cold pressed method by purchasing coconuts on your own and having the oil extracted. This will give you absolute pure oil that cannot be matched with any other brands that are available in the market. There are many methods given on the net that teach you how to prepare coconut oil on your own. You could choose the one that’s convenient for you.

Hair oil recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml. coconut oil
  • 25 gms. dry gooseberry pieces

If your hair is rather scanty and you suffer from severe hair fall then you could add the below given ingredients as well to the oil. Soak the fenugreek seeds with the gooseberries overnight and add the castor oil, once the oil has cooled down after being cooked with the gooseberries.

  • 2 tsp fenugreek seeds/ methi dana (optional)
  • ·1 tbsp castor oil (optional)

Method for preparing the oil:

Soak the gooseberries overnight in a vessel. The next day, heat the oil along with the gooseberries and bring it to boiling point. Now, lower the flame and let this cook on a slow flame for about 15 minutes. The oil will have turned yellowish, by now. Shut the gas and let this oil cool down naturally. Strain the oil and store it in a glass container. You could even store it without straining for maximum benefits.

To use this oil, warm some of it and apply it on your entire scalp and gently massage with your fingertips. For optimum results, leave this at least overnight and wash off with a mild shampoo and warm water, the next day. Or then leave it for a few hours. Do this at least once a week.

This oil is a little heavier and greasier than the usual, plain coconut oil because of the infusion of gooseberries, so you will need some more shampoo than usual to wash off your hair squeaky clean. If you find the oil a bit greasy for yourself, add some more of the plain coconut oil to the gooseberry oil.

Waxing for Hair Removal

Cons of Waxing

  • Pain/discomfort – waxing can hurt when it’s pulled off the skin. The discomfort is short and sharp, so it doesn’t last, but can be unpleasant.
  • Cost – waxing may be cheaper than laser, but it is not a permanent solution to hair removal. Treatment will need to be repeated every few weeks to maintain the result and the costs do add up.
  • Skin irritations – waxing can leave the skin a bit sore, especially with thicker hair or the first few times when follicles are strongest.
  • Ingrown hairs – regrowth after waxing can involve some ‘ingrown’ hairs, leading to bumpy skin.
  • Waiting – waxing can only be done when there’s a certain amount of hair ready to remove, so clients do have to wait for enough regrowth before having another session. It can be annoying and a bit embarrassing, many people choose to cover up underarms or legs by wearing sleeved tops or trousers in the final stages of regrowth.
  • Embarrassment – something that many people really do worry about if they’re having a more intimate treatment, like bikini wax, for the first time.

Pros of Waxing

There are a number of benefits to waxing, which explain why it is so enduringly popular:

  • Fast and effective – waxing really can remove large amounts of hair quickly – even men’s backs or chests can be quickly treated.
  • Long-lasting – hair in waxed areas will not grow back for 2-8 weeks. This can save a considerable amount of time compared to daily shaving.
  • Treats at the root – so hair grows back softer than with certain other hair removal methods. When shaving, the end of the hair is blunted, so can feel rougher when growing back. Depilatory cream also removes hair at the skin’s surface, so a stubble can appear within a few days. Waxing pulls the hair from the root, so skin is smoother for longer.
  • Softer regrowth – repeated waxing over long periods of time tends to result in softer, sparser regrowth in the long term.
  • Economical – compared to laser or electrolysis, waxing is a cheaper option per session. This is due to there being no expensive equipment for the salon to invest in or maintain and the relatively quick time it takes to carry out the treatment.
